Everyone loves the idea of becoming a teacher and being "funcionario". Making a difference. Inspiring young minds. Summer holidays. Yay.
What no one talks about? The chaos before that.
Preparing for the oposiciones de inglés is messy. You second-guess every unit you write. You wonder if you even speak English anymore. You lose sleep over phonemes. You cry over rubrics. And then you do it all again the next day.
But here’s the thing: that mess? That confusion? That’s what real learning looks like. It means you’re deep in the process. You’re not playing it safe. You’re not on the sidelines. You’re in the game.
Growth doesn’t look like a Pinterest board. It looks like 47 open tabs, coffee stains, and a notebook full of crossed-out ideas. That’s where the transformation happens.
So if you’re in the thick of it right now, good. Stay there. You’re closer than you think.
